Challenge & Reward

Over the course of the hut trip there were many challenges.
The one that stood out to me the most was on the hike up.
The hike on the road
seemed to take forever, but the snow was packed down from snow mobiles. However, when we got to
the trail, there was quite a bit of fresh snow on it.
After hiking on the trail for
about twenty minutes, I started to notice my skis getting heavier. I looked
at
the bottom of them and there was about an inch of snow on my skins. I scraped
it off and continued to hike. Later, when we were only about twenty minutes
from the hut, snow started sticking to my skins again. I hiked for a little
while until hiking with so much snow on my skins got too tiring. I took a long
break to get all the snow off my skis. It took a while because this time the
snow underneath my skis was more then two inches thick. When I was done
scraping the snow from my skins I presses on and finally saw the hut.
It was really rewarding to know that all of our hiking had paid off and we
finally made it to Uncle Bud's Hut.
